Upcoming Sermons
January 4 A Letter To My Grandchildren from Rev. Sandy... and to all children, for that matter. If I could give the children of the world - and all succeeding generations - a truly happy new year, what would that mean? What would I wish for them in this January of 2009 new year and in the next new year and the next? What would you want the world that our children will inherit to look like? Think carefully about that and come prepared to share your thoughts about how we might create the conditions that would ensure many Happy New Years for the youngest among us. January 18 Not Yet... Reflections on Racism iOn this Sunday, Rev. Ingham will continue her series of reflections about prophets with a look at the life of a modern-day American prophet, Martin Luther King, Jr. Even though we seem to have made a significant attack on racism in this country by electing our first black president, it is not yet time to rest on our laurels. There is still too much to do, especially if you look a little more closely at where Dr. King was headed in his prophesies. February 1 All You Need Is Love I would like to believe that this sentiment is true. However, love often seems to be in short supply. Or is it? If you break love down into its components, you run into the concept of kindness. And, everyone has stories of kindness to tell, don’t they? There will be a congregational response time when you will be invited to share your kindness stories, especially those that concern “the kindness of strangers”.
